Radon

According to Public Health England, Every building has radon and in most areas the levels are low. Some buildings in “radon Affected Areas” have higher levels.

Radon is a radioactive gas, we can’t see, smell or taste it: you need special equipment to detect it. It comes from the rocks and soil found everywhere in the UK. The radon level in the air we breathe outside is very low but can be higher inside buildings.

The video below produced by Public Health England provides a good introduction about Radon and how it affects you, further information can also be found at https://www.ukradon.org/

Radon is something that affects properties mainly located in the Southwest and Northwest of England and In the Northwest of Northern Ireland, the South East of England is relatively unaffected, but small pockets of Radon do exist.

We can provide Radon Detection should you require, please see the services section of our website for more details
